SnagIt is a great screenshot utility for Windows. Mac has built in screenshot taking, which I connected to open in Preview for editing, similar to SnagIt. Snagit is an easy to use screen capture software that offers many additional advanced features. Not only grab desired portion of screen or entire window, but also edit capture and add notations, arrows, text and different effects. Snagit enters a crowded Mac field of screen capture software with strong competition from Acorn 2, Snapz Pro, and ScreenFlow 2. Snagit is only still a beta, so you may encounter bugs, and new. Apowersoft Mac Screenshot is specially made for Mac OS X. With this tool, you can easily capture anything from the Mac screen, no matter it is a particular portion, a window or the entire screen. Plus, it also has an image annotating tool which can be utilized in adding markings like lines, text, shapes, etc.

Handy controls: Anytime you want to access Snagit for Mac, all you have to do is hover your cursor over the right-hand edge of your screen, and the compact control panel will pop up. From there, you can either select photo or video and go from there, or you can open up the app's main interface window for more options.
Integrated sharing: After you've captured and edited your image or clip, you can export it in several different ways straight from the app. For instance, you can upload a video to YouTube, post it to Facebook or Twitter, or email it to a friend or colleague.
Editing tools: There are tons of editing tools in this program, many of which are designed to help you make top-notch video tutorials or instructional videos. You can add page break effects, manage shadows, crop images, and add text bubbles in a variety of shapes and sizes to help you convey exactly what you need to.

Text bugs: When we tested the text bubbles, they didn't always produce writing that was of a legible size. No matter how large we made the font in those instances, the writing remained tiny. However, leaving the image we were working on and starting over eliminated the problem.
